Sam M. Chung is a Partner at Petra Capital Management with over 20 years of investment experience in the Korean market. Mr. Chung specializes in fundamental, value-focused research, applying detailed and disciplined financial analysis to discover high-quality businesses. Mr. Chung also plays a key role in the firm’s shareholder engagement initiatives, working to unlock long-term shareholder value. Prior to joining Petra in 2015, he was an Analyst at SC Fundamental and previously worked as an Associate in the Investment Banking Division of Samsung Securities, where he advised on IPOs, M&As and other capital market transactions.
Mr. Chung received his MBA from Columbia Business School, where he completed the Value Investing Program, and holds a BBA from Yonsei University. He is a certified investment manager registered with the Korea Financial Investment Association and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
